On April 6, 2021, the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) issued Invalidation Decision No. 49001, declaring Chinese Invention Patent No. 201710190408.3 (title: “Composition Comprising Fluorine‑Substituted Olefin”, hereinafter “the patent in suit”), owned by Honeywell International Inc., wholly invalid, thereby upholding the invalidation request filed by the requester.

Beijing Caihe Law Firm was retained by the invalidation requester to act as its representative in the above case.

Key highlights of the case:

1、The requester successfully challenged the patent’s priority claim, demonstrating that it was invalid, and therefore utilized documents published after the priority date as prior‑art evidence.

2、All 70 claims of the patent in suit were declared invalid.
