Lin Kuang

Mr. Kuang Lin specializes in intellectual property, with particular expertise in technology‑related IP legal matters including patents, trade secrets, and software copyrights. Mr. Kuang has been practicing as an IP lawyer since 2003. He worked for many years at one of China’s earliest foreign‑related law firms, where he was primarily responsible for new patent applications, the communication and response to office actions, patent reexamination, drafting PCT international applications, and preparing English patent applications for entry into the United States and Europe via the Paris Convention and PCT. His technical focus covers communications, computers, and related fields. His clients have included renowned domestic and international enterprises such as IBM, Yahoo, VIA Technologies, LG, Motorola, Lenovo, Baidu, Tencent, and Huawei. In November 2017, Mr. Kuang joined T&C. He currently focuses on patent prosecution, reexamination, invalidation, administrative litigation, and civil litigation in the fields of communications, circuits, computers, and artificial intelligence. His clients include Alibaba, China Construction Bank (CCB FinTech), and Horizon Robotics.

Mr. Kuang not only possesses extensive experience in patent drafting but also comprehensively integrates enterprises’ technical, legal, and operational needs. He advises on overall patent strategies based on corporate R&D and provides targeted guidance on detailed patent portfolio development and drafting.

Mr. Kuang holds dual academic backgrounds in engineering and law: a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Information Engineering from Tsinghua University and a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property Law from Renmin University of China.

He is qualified as both a lawyer and a patent attorney.
