Sangtian Yan  

Dr. Yan specializes in intellectual property law, with particular expertise in patent, trade secret, software copyright, and other technology‑related IP legal matters. After obtaining her doctoral degree from Tsinghua University, she began her IP legal career at Beijing Liu Shen & Associates. She demonstrates strong professional learning capabilities and has handled cases covering a wide range of technical fields, including biomedicine, chemistry, chemical engineering, new materials, mechanics, medical devices, bioinformatics, diagnostic and therapeutic methods, as well as model algorithms. In 2017, Dr. Yan founded the Intellectual Property Department at Beijing Caihe Law Firm. In 2018, she established Beijing Tangsong Yongxin Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd. She is proficient in English and Japanese, which serve as her working languages, and is familiar with patent and trade secret practice in multiple jurisdictions. She is also a registered Benrishi (Japanese patent attorney) in Japan.

Dr. Yan holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Chemical Engineering and a Doctor of Engineering in Biochemical Engineering from Tsinghua University. During an exchange program in Japan, she also earned a Master of Engineering in Biochemical Engineering from the Tokyo Institute of Technology.

She is qualified as a Chinese lawyer, a patent attorney, and a Japanese patent attorney.

She currently serves as a member of the Patent Law Committee of the Beijing Lawyers Association, a member of the Corporate Compliance Committee of the Haidian District Lawyers Association, and a mediator with the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC).
